You, of course could throw a version of Linux on the slow juice drinker like bpuppy Linux/b or my favorite being OpenGeu. If you do not want to use the Linux desktop then by all means go out and buy yourself a new computer. b.../b

Just curious have you tried bpuppy linux/b? From my experience it seemed to boot much faster than vanilla arch, which made me a little sad about arch. Btw are you using a bona fide apple? Or a hacbook? b.../b
